What data SmartTread processes

Local data on your device

Workout history, app settings, pace/heart-rate profiles, saved workout plans, and connection preferences are stored locally on your device.

Installation ID

The app stores a local Installation ID (Android ID or generated UUID), used to verify ad-free status.

Workout telemetry

During a session, the app reads FTMS treadmill data (for example speed, distance, heart rate, incline) to display metrics and save the workout.

Android permissions and purpose

Third-party services

Google AdMob

The free app version shows Google AdMob ads. Google may process data according to its own privacy policy.

Firebase Firestore

The app connects to Firebase Firestore only to check whether ad-free mode is enabled for an Installation ID (or code).

Strava (optional)

If you connect Strava, OAuth tokens are stored locally and selected workouts (FIT files) can be uploaded to Strava on your request.

External policies: Google Privacy Policy · Strava Privacy Policy.

Data sharing

SmartTread does not sell your data. Data is shared with third parties only where needed for features you actively use (for example ads, Strava upload, ad-free verification).

Data retention and deletion

Children's privacy

The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app functionality changes or Google Play requirements are updated. The current version is published on this page.
